_ 257 _ Episodes of the year 1548 Dom Manuel de Lima sent a letter to Dom João de Castro, Ormuz, on the 25th of January 1548, in which he mentioned matters related to the Turks and their affairs in Basra:(63) Sir, Today 25 January Domingos Barbudo arrived, whom I had sent to Basra to find out in detail about the affairs of the Turks and their intentions. I am sending him to Your Lordship so that through him you may know in detail about affairs in Basra. He has been there nine times on this mission, and I am therefore sending Domingos Barbudo to Your Lordship.
