_ 270 _ and his brothers, Hamish bin Sheikh Ali and Sheikh Adbul Jabir, represented by the most honourable Amir Duens bin Hamid, their ambassador and uncle, by virtue of the sufficient powers which for this purpose are bestowed on him by the King and his brothers; and of this agreement is made the following extract: Item: First it is agreed that they will be friends of each others’ friends and enemies of each others’ enemies, and that on all occasions that it is the duty of any one of them, they will help one another with all might and strength against the Turks and against all other kings and lords who may wish to wage war against them. Item: That the Governor promises to the King of Aden that whenever he wishes, he will afford help in the form of people or a fleet, go in person to help him, or send his captains to conduct war on all his enemies; and the enemies of the said Governor who may be in these parts, the King of Aden engages himself and promises to do the same against all the enemies of the said Governor who may be in these parts. Item: It is agreed that the Governor will immediately send his son, Dom Alvaro, with a great fleet to help and assist the King of Aden in his great war against the Turks.
