_ 282 _ India to take possession of the city of Aden on behalf of our said Master, in order on his behalf and in the name of His Highness to give that city into the hands of the King, more people may be needed than he is taking with him in the fleet. I am informed that among the Moors there are many Portuguese fugitives from justice. It will be to our advantage that the said D. Alvaro de Castro grant safe-conduct to any fugitive who may wish to go with him in this fleet. I have given him authority to do this. He should not grant safe-conduct to any person who has been subject of a challenge in my time here or challenges any person, because it is not to our advantage that such challengers be granted safe-conduct for certain reasons which move me to issue the present warrant. I hereby order all Captains, magistrates, judges and other officers to carry out this order and keep the safe-conducts which D.
