If you are unable to achieve all that is necessary in this matter, the King is then to sign the other agreement which you will also have in Persian, which says in a note on the back why the agreement which the King of Aden will retain must be in Arabic, and you are not to bring it back here completed, although on the back of these instructions I am telling that you are to bring it back. You are to bear in mind that no more and no less than the Persian version is to be written and copied after you conclude with the King which of the agreements he will accept. As I do not know which of these agreements the King will wish to sign, I have not signed any of them. For this reason, I give you authority to sign on my behalf the agreement which the King accepts and signs. In the contracts which are to be retained by the King you are to write at the foot of each agreement which you have to sign a declaration in which it is stated that you are signing on
