_ 137 _ In the same year (1550) The Governor of India, George Cabral, sent a letter to the King of Ormuz, Goa, on the 25th of March 1550, asking him to convert to Christianity:(16) Sir, I am such a devoted servant of Your Majesty that I wish to see your possessions increase and your soul set down on the true road of salvation. Since that means the faith of Our Lord Jesus Christ, I ask-grace for Your Majesty and present Him to you, as a father full of love for you, who wish to free yourself from the blindness into which sin has led you, and to accept His true salvation. Your Majesty will do me a great favour if, in this matter, you consult Father Superior Gaspar, a very virtuous person leading a holy life, who is there. He will speak truthfully to you.
