_ 7 _ Introduction to Volume Nine This volume covers the events of three years, from 1549 to 1551, during which a series of significant events took place, largely instigated by the Ottomans, including their occupation of Aden, as well as Basra, Qatif, and Bahrain. The Portuguese authorities in Ormuz took further action by closing the mosque and banning people from praying. Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi
