_ 93 _ In the same year (1549) A letter from the priest Gaspar Barzio to the Jesuits residing in India and Europe, Ormuz, on the 10th of December 1549, in which he mentioned a description of the region around Ormuz, and the events that took place there:(10) Jesus Mary May the protection of the Father, the peace of the blessed Christ, the grace and virtue of all the Saints, lead us to the gateway of safety and thence to the burning love of Jesus (!) which gleams and shines like sparks that swirl about a bed of reeds.(A) May we, oppressed and shipwrecked people be rescued from the storms.
