Tu r g u t 7 Foreword In 916 AH (corresponding to 1510 CE) The Spaniardsmanaged to take overmost ofNorthAfrica in lieu of the weakness of Emir Muhammad ibn Hussain of Tunisia, the 19th Emir of the Hafsid dynasty. The take-over was met was almost no resistence as the locals had barely any peoper knowledge of bearing or fighting with arms. As a result, this Arab area remained under Spanish control for 42 years. As fate would have it, an Ottoman who had dedicated his life to the service of Islam and his fellow Muslims, managed through his courage and dedication to free this region from the Spanish occupation.
