In September 2019, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority to provide Zulal bottled drinking water for free for all the private schools and nurseries in the Emirate of Sharjah, for more than 116 schools that accommodate 200 thousand students, and 135 nurseries with 6500 children.

This generous grant of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, aims to provide a decent life for all segments of society and to ensure the health and safety of the children and provide an ideal learning environment.

It's worth mentioning that in September 2012, His Highness Ruler of Sharjah has directed to provide mineral water for free in public schools in the emirate. It was in response of His Highness to the demands of some parents via Direct Line program which is broadcasted on Sharjah Radio and TV, complaining the price hike of drinking water bottles sold to their children in school canteens.
