H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of Sharjah University, seeks to establish a University Hospital and a Dental Hospital that will provide training services to medical students at the University of Sharjah.

It also provides health services to the local community through a group of skilled doctors. The hospitals include many research centers, which are the basic pillars in their educational roles.

University Hospital Sharjah

The inauguration of general hospital in University of Sharjah was another moment of pride for the Emirates. It is a major accomplishment achieved by the university with the support and guidance of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. The hospital has a capacity of 210 beds and includes the majority of medical specializations such as internal diseases, surgery, pediatric and gynecology all of which are followed by concerned specialized departments such as physiotherapy, therapeutic feeding, and pediatrics section equipped with the latest devices for the treatment of premature infants, as well as a general section for children.

Internal Diseases Department includes the treatment for cardiac patients, diabetes and endocrinology patients as well as the treatment for the diseases of digestive system and the diseases of joints. The Department of surgery includes the orthopedic surgery, pediatric surgery, urology, general surgery and oncologic surgery. The Hospital contains a department of obstetrics and gynecology which is dedicated to monitor and follow-up pregnant women and infants, as well as outpatient clinics, emergency services, laboratories and medical radiography.

Dental Hospital

The University Dental Hospital Sharjah is regarded as the first and largest dental hospital in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf countries and the region in general. Apart from providing dental education and training, the hospital also gives treatment for patients.

Equipped with high facilities, the hospital provides quality healthcare and therapeutic services with the help of the latest technology adopted in this area and will contribute very effectively in the integration of a system of education, training, research and treatment. The Hospital will offer the services of dental public health, pediatric dentistry, preventive dentistry, orthodontics, restorative dental treatment, dental root treatment, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and oral and maxillofacial radiology.
