Initiative to establish theatrical festivals in Arab countries

H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, announced an initiative to establish a theatrical festival in every Arab country under the management of the Arab Theatre Authority in order to promote theatrical creativity and performance. Such festivals will significantly contribute to evolving the theatrical movement across all Arab countries.

As an implementation of this initiative, 7 national festivals will be organized and three centers for performing arts.

Festivals:

1. Palestine National Theatre Festival, in cooperation with Palestinian Ministry of Culture, 25 October- 3 November 2018, Ramallah.

2. National Festival of Mauritania theatre, in cooperation with Ministry of Culture, 16-22 October 2018, Nouakchott.

3. Yemen National Theatre Festival, in cooperation with Ministry of Culture, 25 October- 7 November 2018, Adan.

4. Jordanian Theatre Festival, in cooperation with the Jordan Artists Association, Ministry of Culture, 1-7 October 2018, Amman.

5. Lebanon National Theatre Festival, in cooperation with Ministry of Culture, 16-26 November 2018, Beirut.

6. Saudi National Theatre Festival, in cooperation with Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts, 21-27 November 2018, Riyadh.

7. Amateur Theatre Festival, in cooperation with Moroccan Ministry of Communication and Culture, 28 September- 5 October 2018, Marrakech.

Centers for Performing Arts:

The training programs will be launched in three countries:

1. Mauritania Center for Performing Arts- Nouakchott, in cooperation with Ministry of Culture.

2. Yemeni Center for Performing Arts- Adan, in cooperation with Ministry of Culture.

3. Palestinian Center for Performing Arts- Ramallah, in cooperation with Palestinian Ministry of Culture.
