Initiative to establish New Arabic Language Council in Mauritania

With generosity of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, President of the Arab Language Academy in Sharjah, the new building of the Arabic Language Council in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, was officially opened. This council, comprised of a distinguished group of scholars, has the important task of promoting the use of the Arabic language within Mauritania and beyond.

The two-story structure, encompassing administrative offices, study and meeting rooms, a library, and a mosque capable of accommodating over 300 worshipers.

The construction of this building was executed on land granted by the Mauritanian government in the University neighborhood. His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, generously covered all construction costs and fully furnished the building.
