His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated Sharjah Publishing City (SPC), His Highness said four decades ago that the book is the knowledge which brings together the cultures of the world.

Sharjah Publishing City is the first free publishing zone in the world, and it’s  one of the Sharjah Book Authority's projects aimed at providing an incubating environment for publishers and publishing professionals from around the world. 

With a total area of 40,000 square meters, Sharjah City will provide 300 furnished offices for business owners and publishers, along with 6,000 square meters for business space and more than 20 meeting rooms, warehouses, service facilities, data centre, and many other supporting services for publishers.
