His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on Wednesday, has inaugurated the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), new branch in Emirate of Sharjah, located at the city of Khorfakkan.

Upon His Highness arrival to the new branch of the academy, His Highness witnessed a show by the honour students of the academy, to then unveil the new administrative building of the academy. During the inauguration, His Highness toured the halls of the new branch with all its department that serves the staff and students of the academy, and watched a film that document the stages of establishing the academy’s new branch in Khorfakkan. 

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah took a memorial photo with the first batch of students of the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Khorfakkan.

After that, His Highness inaugurated the academy mosque, which can accommodate 350 people, and contains a prayer hall for women, and is characterized by many decorations and Islamic architectural designs, in which His Highness and the attendees performed the Maghrib prayer.

His Highness then moved to the amphitheater and the academy stadium, which can accommodate 700 people, and removed the traditional curtain of the amphitheater to mark its opening.

The opening ceremony concluded with a laser light show on the academy’s administrative building, in addition to the fireworks on the sky of Khorfakkan.
