His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and president of the University of Sharjah instructed to exempt all blind students from the 3.5 GPA Admission requirement into Sharjah University’s bachelor’s degree program upon hearing a phone in comment by a 51-year-old blind man on the direct line TV show aired by the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority.

The caller said in an interview with the presenter of the direct line TV show that he wished to pursue his university education, yet he wasn’t admitted into the Sharjah University’s bachelor’s degree program for not having achieved the required 3.5 GPA. The caller added that he had always dreamed to complete his university education, having received the secondary education completion certificate at this late age, requesting to be exempted from such a requirement to be able to pursue his university education and realize his lifelong goals.

It was His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, ruler of Sharjah and president of the University of Sharjah who broke the good news to the caller, telling him that he would be exempted from the GPA requirement and could therefore pursue his university education at the University of Sharjah.
