His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, released a new book by him on Monday. Titled "History of Alqawasim", the new-five-part book has been published by Al Qasimi Publications.
This book is a documented historical study of the events witnessed by Al Qawasim over thirteen centuries. The narrative begins in the first year of the Hijra and ends in 1240 AH (corresponding to 622–1825 AD).
Divided into five parts, the book traces the history of the Qawasim, shedding light on the most significant historical milestones, events, and turning points they have experienced.
Sheikh Sultan outlines the key political and social events and transformations that defined the presence and status of Al Qawasim in the region's history.
The first part covers Alqawasim between Al Madinah and Iraq; the second, Alqawasim between Alliances and Wars; the third, Alqawasim between Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah; the fourth, Alqawasim between Peace and Conflict; and the fifth, Alqawasim between Resistance and Surrender.
In the book's introduction, Sheikh Sultan wrote, "The successive eras and diverse events, as well as the false accusations levelled against Al Qawasim during the British occupation era, prompted me to conduct research and investigations through all the documents, manuscripts and thousands of books related to the region where Al Qawasim lived. This research took about forty years, tracing the history of Al Qawasim from the Prophet's migration in the first year of the Hijra (622 AD) to 1240 AH (1825 AD)."
Sheikh Sultan said, "History of Alqawasim' is divided into five parts:
Part One: Alqawasim between Al Madinah and Iraq from the first year of the Hijra to 1021 AH (corresponding to 622–1613 AD).
Part Two: Alqawasim between Alliances and Wars (1023 AH–1201 AH / 1615–1787 AD).
