His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, approved an amount of AED 500 million for the establishment of a sanitation network and an integrated sanitation network in the Muwailih area.
The department has combined efforts with its strategic partners to develop an integrated plan for drainage in the city of Sharjah to develop the sanitation sector and determine the priority of implementation sewage projects to establish an integrated sanitation system at a thoughtful economic cost, in conjunction with the urban development and the expected population density in the city, aiming at preserving the environment, reducing the number of tanks, reducing carbon emissions, and preventing odors.
The cost of implementing the project amounted to about half a billion dirhams, pointing out that this project will contribute to creating an attractive environment for investment and a place that encourages work and living.
The sewage system has been studied and designed to be an integrated and flexible system that keeps pace with the expected population development of the area, contributing in enhancing the development of the infrastructure and boosting the economic development in Sharjah.
