His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved 2208 scholarships for all scientific majors of the University of Sharjah (UOS) since the beginning of the academic year, equivalent to 50 percent of the students admitted to the University for the current academic year. These included 1777 scholarships for Bachelor’s degree (122 of which covered by the Emiri Court and 553 funded by the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority) and 431 scholarships for postgraduate students including 364 for Maters students and 8 for people with determination and 67 for doctoral programmes of all disciplines.

This was announced during the “Direct Line” programme broadcast on Sharjah TV and Radio.
