His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, received on Thursday at the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology (SAASST), Astronauts Sultan Alneyadi, Hazzaa Almansoori and UAE Mission 2 team, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah.

The meeting covered the team's recent successful mission to the International Space Station, which enhanced the UAE's reputation, as well as the significant advancements in space science and astronomy programs.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah listened to a detailed explanation from Sultan Alneyadi and Hazzaa Almansoori, about the longest space mission in Arab history, which Alneyadi underwent and extended to 6 months aboard the International Space Station, and the scientific experiments he participated.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah commended the team's work during the astronaut Sultan Alneyadi 's most recent mission, highlighting UAE’s interest in space science and international scientific missions. Sharjah Ruler also underscored the state's efforts to support youth to advance in all scientific and research fields.

His Highness received from astronaut Sultan Alneyadi the flag of the UAE, which accompanied him during his mission aboard the International Space Station, calling on the scientific team to continue their efforts in order to achieve more scientific achievements that distinguish youth of the UAE.
