His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, said on Monday, via direct line, “There are verbal attacks on those in charge of the employment file.
“The employment decision is made only by me. There is an information box containing complete data about applicants. When I asked to be briefed on their number, I found it shocking, as it exceeded 12,000.”
Sheikh Sultan pointed out that he is working hard to improve the conditions of seven categories.
Sheikh Sultan added, "There are employees who resigned for different reasons, and others who were dismissed, and I will not let them down. In addition, there are the married women who aspire to work and I will do everything possible for them."
Sheikh Sultan expressed his keenness in the category of those with low salaries, out of his interest to provide a decent life for members of society.
He explained, “We raised the salaries to Dhs25,000, after studies we conducted with the Social Services Department. I examined all the details of the individual and family expenses in order to know how much salary will provide a decent life.”
Sultan added, "In case life expenses increase, we will conduct a new study to make salaries commensurate with life's requirements, if low-paid employees are affected, I will not let them down."
Sheikh Sultan addressed the low-paid employees at Sharjah government saying, “I know they want to leave the job, and I tell them to continue until we finish our studies. I have no excuse."
"I was watching all the expenditures, details of individuals and families to know which salary would grant them a decent life."If life expenses increase, we will conduct a new study. If the situation becomes detrimental to people with low income, I will not leave them.”
He said the government had established a committee to assess and assist Emiratis looking for employment.
"We have ordered the formation of a committee called the Employment Processing Committee, which will work under my supervision.
"It will consist of statistics, social services and human resources departments in the government of Sharjah.
"Its mission is to study the employment applications and find solutions to address the problems of everyone who faces an employment difficulty."
