Perhaps, it is very tough to put his great achievements in front of the nation because of his developmental leaps in all fields, for example, the flourishing of the cultural theater in Sharjah, under the patronage of His Highness, making the emirate crowned with many titles, in recognition of his prominent role in supporting the book and promoting the culture of reading. Sharjah International Book Fair has achieved cultural and intellectual enhancement around the world. The International Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has designated Sharjah as the World Book Capital of 2019, in recognition of its prominent role in supporting the book and promoting the culture of reading and establishing knowledge as an option in the dialogue of human civilizations. In 2014, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization chose Sharjah as the capital of culture, In recognition of its contributions to the cultural field locally, in Arab and Islamic world. As a result of the development of the media and the encouragement of the cultural and intellectual content of the media, Sharjah has been selected as the capital of the Arab press for 2016. Sharjah is now proud to be a hub for a quarter of the country's museums and a number of renowned events, such as the Sharjah Biennial and the Sharjah International Book Fair.

Its presence in the contemporary international arena of visual creativity, and the international art event specializing in Islamic arts organized by the Department of Culture, Government of Sharjah, reflects the vitality and depth of Islamic arts as an international art language; the Islamic Arts Festival founded in 1998 with the completion of Islamic art in its civilizational and current dimensions. The mosques have a large share of His Highness's interest in the Emirate as he ordered to accommodate and renovate the hereditary mosques where religious activities and intellectual public debates were organized as per the latest scientific and international methods, in order to protect the historical places of the country.

Revival and evaluation of heritage

Preservation of heritage and adherence to the authenticity of history and its roots were the distinguishing factors of His Highness, considering the moral and cultural value of historical monuments. He directed to maintain the popular markets in Sharjah, which have a great importance in trade, history and ancient Arabic literature. Sharjah province is one the first provinces that has been working on the restoration of historical monuments and heritage buildings, in accordance with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and as an effort to preserve, revive, evaluate as well as to protect the historical buildings and heritage sites through protection and restoration re-employment and revitalization of the old areas of Sharjah, such as: the historic Al Arsah Market, Al Marijah and Al Shuwaiheen area 1994, and reconstruction of Sharjah's old fort, preservation of Sharjah's documents and opening of a museum for the emirate in 1997, As well as Al-Masqoof, Al-Sagah and Saqar markets and other antique heritage monuments in the emirate.

His Highness also supported the projects of cultural and civilization communication between the Arab and Islamic peoples, nations and other civilizations in the West and the East, to prove that Islam is a religion of tolerance and communication, not a religion of violence or isolation. His highness was also interested in preserving memory, therefore; he founded the museums equipped with the latest technology. He never forgot to put his contribution as an author to the world culture too. He has dedicated a number of valuable books in the fields of knowledge and creativity to the different Arab and International libraries.

World of Theater

His highness considered the theater as an outlet of the world. He loved it and liked it and said that this world is a magic, I realized its true essence when I started writing, direction and action through first phase of my study. In the beginning, I did not take it seriously; it was just a kind of a school activity which provides the essence of mind. I only got its real sprit when I started writing, directing and acting of a political drama which causes the anger of the government of the time. Everything of the theater was condemned and closed in front of my eyes. Its scenes still comes into my mind with its equipment but now "It can be played or preserved in the sentiment of the people only. At that time, I realized the power of the theater, especially for those who can’t bear the other opinions, and I believed the key role which can be played by the theater or played in the lives of peoples

Importance of the environment and sustainability

His Highness has not left any field of comprehensive development but recorded his achievements in all fields. One of his major initiatives is the Sharjah Sustainable City project, which is the first project to meet the highest standards of green economy and environmental sustainability in the Emirate. It is one of the latest projects that take into account sustainable development along with providing family’s stability. The project includes educational institutions, based on providing the concept and methods of suitability. The “Center for Sustainability” will inevitably contribute to raise awareness on the environmental issues and the concept of sustainable cities. His Highness established the “Environment and Reserves Authority” in order to achieve sustainable development in the field of environment and wildlife and to combat pollution and degradation.

The role model, Shaikh Zayed

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has always considered that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God rest his soul) as a role model for him, where he had a special relationship with Sheikh Zayed «God's mercy», which was associated with good deed and humanity, reiterating that he always extended his helping hand to the needy people in all countries of the world and laid the principles of good deed and humanitarian work and put it on the top priorities of the State. I was keen to be proactive in assisting as a brother and friend to the peoples in the areas of humanitarian work, such as helping of the needy people and rescuing them from fear, educating of generations, building mosques and construction of hospitals, which made it in top of the world. He pointed out that the people of the country have followed the path of the late Sheikh Zayed, “May God rest his soul in peace” following his footsteps. Today we see the fruits of his plants in the form of his sons, who have written the most wonderful and beautiful pictures of humanitarian donations and made great sacrifices for the sake of doing good and serving the people in need. He offered his soul and time for this noble deed, so this is your plantation, O, Shaikh Zayed, which got a good paid off. His Highness added that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, (May God rest his soul in peace) has drew to the UAE a clear approach titled Serving Humanity, and ridiculed for this purpose for most of his time until the State today became an oasis of security and tolerance in which citizens and residents enjoy peace and stability regardless of their gender or color.
