His Highness is a member of the Supreme Council of the Union and is the Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, but yesterday he was a different and creative Arab figure. We were before a scientist, researcher and historian like the sea in the abundance of information and accuracy of details. He has been going through history for thousands of years, moving smoothly between its epochs, connecting events, words and names over time to draw conclusions to correct erroneous information, adjust the course of disconnected events and complete the lost spaces between the days of the ancient past. This is in order for sentences to be understood, and historical events interconnected and sound closer to reason and logic.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi is neither a writer of history nor a carrier. History is written according to authority and by the historians of the tyrants who claimed their victory by the sword. History also contains a lot of counterfeiting. His Highness could not write information without scrutiny and research and great effort. He is a historian and scholar of human history, a reviser of history and a truth-seeking scholar. Accordingly, it is not surprising that he has his own discoveries that have been recorded in his name and no one has preceded them in them for thousands of years.

We listened and enjoyed with a fabulous Ramadan lecture delivered by Sheikh Sultan about the roots of Arabic literature not from the Pre-Islamic Era or the Early Islamic Era, but since 1800 BC. We were watching a documentary movie with the voice of His Highness. It was an interrelated film of paragraphs and events. Our small imaginations, based on words and historical names rooted as words without details such as Arameans, Nabataeans, Alexander the Great, and the Greeks, have been fed largely with extensive information about the details of that immemorial time. Information we heard for the first time was about Aramean cultural, literary and poetic centers, such as the Edessa Center, a walled city with a river. It is a trade crossing that the people of Persia and the Greeks flock to. Its population is a mixture of Arameans and Nabataeans. At that time, the city became a center of all the languages that emerged. Its citizens were interested in the research of language, literature, poetry, science, logic, philosophy, history, music, stories and various Arts of literature in general. This center is the real and fundamental beginning from which Arabic and other living languages originate.

Yesterday, we knew the meaning of the word poetry. From a linguistic perspective, poetry is defined as “news and science” and “Nabataean poetry” means “one who has news and knowledge about the Nabataeans” because they were using poetry to convey news between Mecca and other areas. They loved the poetry of the poem and the song. From their perspective, the poem is a poetic narrative, often composed of three meter and three measures. The song is a hymn in which meters range from 4 to 10 syllables. The first half of each break is repeated. This is very similar to the composition of the current poem and song.

Sheikh Sultan is doing a lot of hard work, and he is a real source of pride for every Arab. His Highness studies the history and events and takes care of every small historical detail. He also records, analyzes, and scrutinize historical events in an impartial manner without showing bias towards a particular party. He transmits the proof of the events of the history of the Arabs and the Holy Quran. He also transmits some events from the chapters of the Holy Bible and books of Jews and others. He is interested in a systematic narrative and works to highlight all the details and events of the past. He works to understand, absorb and derive all events from the historical reliable source. His Highness not only narrates past events, but also interprets them, and takes us with his creative style to the historical time he writes about.

One of the attendees asked him about the significance of the words of Ali ibn Abi Talib: «We are from koth». His Highness answered very quickly: "He did not say his koth, but said that we from "Kuna". I have to correct this information; you may have read it in a book the wrong way. It is Kuna, the town of Abraham, peace be upon him.

This is keenness, this is culture, this is history strongly present in the personality of Sultan bin Mohammed!
